Special themed issue on Nepal Geographies: sustainability, disasters, infrastructure

Special Issue editors: Katharine Rankin, Elsie Lewison, Dinesh Paudel, Galen Murton
The themed issue will be comprised of 2-3 commissioned short review essays and several additional contributions on the themes of sustainability, disasters and infrastructure, for which we are soliciting proposals.
The contributions may take the form of:
- Research-based articles related to the themes of sustainability, disasters and/or infrastructure’ (7,500-8,500 words)
- Critical reflection on the state of scholarship on sustainability, disasters and/or infrastructure within and on Nepal (3,000-5,00 words)
- Single– and two-book reviews and multi-volume book review essays – these may be reviews of books addressing the issue themes, and must have some Nepal-focussed content.
- Notes from the archive: Original extracts from public and private archives related to sustainability, disasters and/or infrastructure, with additional notes.
Please prepare a 1-paragraph proposal stating:
- Title
- Form of contribution (1-4 above)
- Argument in 1-2 sentences
- How your contribution will contribute to the theme of Nepal Geographies: sustainability, natural disasters, infrastructure
- Your commitment to follow the SINHAS style guide (http://www.martinchautari.org.np/files/sinhas_notes_for_contributors.pdf)
Deadlines/Timeline:
- Proposal: September 30, 2018
- Selection of contributions and responses to proposals: October 15, 2018
- Final submission for review: January 1, 2019
- Reviews returned: March 1, 2019
- Revised submissions due: May 1, 2019
- Publication: June 2019 or December 2019 issue.
